Hello Friends and Family!!!
I hope you have had an amazing week of giving thanks and eating all the turkey!
As so many of you know, I am back from my year overseas and have moved down to Georgia. This past year, through Gap Year, I have been with an organization called Adventures in Missions. This is a non profit organization that sends people of all ages overseas to work with churches and share the gospel and love of Jesus Christ. This summer I decided I wanted to continue with Adventures because of the fruit I see through the organization. Along with missions trips they also have a leadership and discipleship school called Center for Global Action (CGA for short), and this is what I am apart of.
CGA is a non-profit, just like the rest of Adventures. During my time here I will be learning, in the broadest explanation, what it looks like to be a servant leader. We study the ways that Jesus lead in the bible through bible studies and books. In the six weeks I have been here, I have grown in self awareness, broadened my view of what leadership is and looks like, and have watched the authority of Christ rise within me.
We have had lessons on boundaries, emotional health and vulnerability, neurotheology, self-awareness and so much more. We have read three books so far and are in middle of a bible study on Nehemiah! We live in community constantly (i have 9 roommates!!) and we are surrounded by people who call us higher and consistently point us back to Christ. Each participant of CGA is given their on discipler, or mentor, to walk through all that is learned. They have already been through the CGA program so they understand what is happening. We are given the freedom to lead and grow, to rise as much as we want, and to answer the call. As we are given that freedom, we also have high accountability and leadership that loves us and will help us when we undoubtedly make mistakes and fall. I have grown more in this time than I did on my Race. We hit the ground running hard with our classes and we won’t be slowing down until graduation in March.
I understand that it is a strange request when you get a letter about supporting someone’s school, but this is so much more than that. This is my launchpad. This coming summer, I plan to go back to Slovakia as a leader for three months and will be able to take all that I have learned with me. In the next 5 years, I plan to have my own business ministry, targeting leading and discipling teens. CGA is only the beginning of all that the Lord has in store for me. At the end of each semester of CGA there is something called the capstone trip, this only happens if every participant is fully funded by December 1st. This capstone trip is an opportunity for us to take everything that we have learned in class and take it to the field. With December 1st drawing closer and closer I ask that you prayerfully consider supporting me in this season. As of right now I have to raise $2,000. I know that the Lord will provide my every need and right now I need your help! If you feel led to give, you can click the DONATE button at the top of this page. All donations are tax deductible!!! If you are interested in keeping up with me and my personal thoughts, I will have my personal blog linked belowl!
I hope you have an amazing holiday season and I pray blessings over each and every one of you.
If you are or have already supported me, I just want to thank you so much for all that you have done! I would not be here without you, and I am so thankful for the Lord’s provision through each of you.
Thanks SO Much!
Libby
